On the weekends one of the special things I love to do is suss out new, trendy Cafe’s or Restaurants I have never been to before in my local area. I honesty never knew how many little, cosy, trendy places I have within my proximity that I don’t take enough advantage of.

This is the latest Café I visited on dandy Saturday with my dear mother and I have to admit it now sits pretty comfortably up there with one of my favourite places to dine for breakfast or lunch.

Harvest Café, Bakery and Deli sprawls across three lovingly restored buildings in the historic town of Newrybar in the Byron Bay Hinterland. At Harvest, they  honour the produce of the region in simple, beautiful fare that makes use of fresh, local and organic ingredients where possible. Harvest is a unique experience in the flavours of the area and relaxed hospitality.

About Harvest:

Offering sophistication & warm ambiance amongst the beautiful country setting of Newrybar in the Byron Bay Hinterland, the award winning Harvest is open for breakfast & lunches 7 days, and for dinners Thursday through to Saturday evenings. Harvest is also available for Special Events, Weddings and Private Catering. Local, fresh and organic produce is showcased with alfresco dining on spacious rambling verandas. The restaurant is set in a charming, early 1900´s historic cottage with a cozy fire and elegant bar.

The Harvest ethos is local, seasonal, sustainable, self sufficient & fresh. We’re proud that the majority of our suppliers are from the local farming community, allowing Harvest to showcase the best of what our beautiful region has to offer. Sustainability is an important factor in every facet of life these days and Harvest is continually evolving towards lessening our environmental footprint, whether it be composting all our green waste, our new solar panels or the onsite grey water treatment facility.

With the exciting extension of our kitchen gardens and certified organic farm just a kilometre from Harvest, we’re getting closer to our self sufficient goal, as well as providing the freshest herbs & vegetables possible for our guests to enjoy. We also dry age local meat onsite & bake our own woodfired sourdough bread & french pastries.
