Arrived: Departed: Next Stop: Australia, Home
Rome Rome Rome what an impression you have made on me, being an amazing closing finale to my trip. Much like Paris, Rome has made a very strong impression on me and has captured a place in my heart. Not only are the people absolute gems but the vibe of the place is incredible. Walking and exploring down each cobblestone streets discovering insanely good pizza places, sweet gelato shops and many, many vespas that I just wanted to take home with me. Beside doing all the usual touristy things and eating my heart out I shopped everyday not wasting any time in a city that is renowned for its amazing leather boots and clothing. This is a very liveable city even in Winter with it being a comfortable 16 degrees for us. We visited the Colosseum, wished in the Trevi Fountain, walked up the Spanish Steps, walked along the Tiber River observing the Vatican, visited the Altare della Patri and explored the ancient ruins – all incredible sites to visit if you are ever here. The Gelato is absolutely to die for, from memory I had at least 2 everyday as sad as that is to admit, but oh so worth it. Rome you will grace me with your presence once agin in the very near future I hope.
TIP: If you are visiting the Colosseum do not wait in the cue, it will take you hours. There is heaps of people standing out the front offering tours, pay the little extra and they will get you your ticket and take you straight in jumping the cue, because when in rome one does not waste time standing in a line for house wasting the day. Then once you are in you can decide whether to stay with the tour and listen or venture off on your own little adventure around the incredible structure.
Accommodation: I couldn’t have asked for a better location, so so central to literally everywhere you want to go. An incredible gelato shop right around the corner, amazing restaurants on your door step, the sweetest shops and even the great Pantheon right right outside the door. Everywhere from this hotel was walkable saving you money on transport.
